T O P I C R E V I E WMadameButterflyWould you plot out the conception at a particular time so you could sort of choose what sign your child would be born under?I've given it a lot of thought at times, though I'm not thinking about motherhood at all right just yet. I'm curious about your thoughts on the idea. Is it as unnatural as being able to choose it's gender? Would you rather just leave it up to 'destiny'?CAY_512 quote:Originally posted by MadameButterfly:Would you plot out the conception at a particular time so you could sort of choose what sign your child would be born under?I've given it a lot of thought at times, though I'm not thinking about motherhood at all right just yet. The labor was fast and the doctors gave me no reason as to why this happened. The conception moon was in aspect to Uranus though. When I look at his chart, he has strange similarities between my chart and my husbands chart. I think there are ways to choose certain things to an extent (like Mars or Venus or Jupiter), but I think in the end you get the child you were meant to have. His chart has things from both sides of our family. My chart has many patterns from my moms and dads side of the family.sweet-scorpionI agree, I'm a big believer in fate. What's meant to happen will happen. Have good karma about your child and in your heart and things will be beautiful for the family when the child is born. Trying to choose when the child comes (like what Sun sign you want it to have, so you conceive purposefully at a certain time) or trying to choose its gender doesn't seem like the best idea but I don't shun people who do it. I just think that as CAY said it's nice to just allow things to unfold as they were meant to. Hypothetical example: you might not get along that well with Libra, but your child's soul might be destined to be born with Libran energy. So it's not a good idea in my opinion, to necessarily say, No way will I conceive in January because I hate Libras and don't get along with them. I think letting things take its course naturally is better since such an idea could backfire...who knows, the little Libra could be the first one you like! redshiftI admit that when my due date was announced as Jan 10, I thought, oh no! A capricorn! I'm going to give birth to my mother!! Karmic retribution!!But he refused to come out in time and was born on the 24th and ended up a sparkling, unique little Aquarius dude, but honestly, you love your kids so much that no matter what they are or what troubles you have with their sign placements, you just are so motivated to love, accept and learn about them, you end up bending yourself in ways you didn't know possible. It would be a lie, if I said I wasn't relieved he ended up Aquarius, but I didn't choose it, he did. Even if he had been Capricorn, I bet it would have become my new favourite sign (No offense to caps!!! Big mom issues here. Plus heck, I've got tons in my chart.)Gem-Gurl quote:Originally posted by redshift: I'm going to give birth to my mother!!HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!! This is just too funny!!!!!! Oh sure, go ahead and laugh My mom is so up in my grill, I imagined her being able to reincarnate even though she's still alive. I pictured her some how being able to astrally project into my son so that as soon as he popped out he'd say something like: "Clean your room now and then it's done!" RegardesPlateroI don't think that it's reliable at all. I'm childfree, so I hope you don't mind me commenting, but kids are born early or late sometimes. Even if you plan a date so that you'll have a child of a certain sign, your kid could screw it up by being born on the wrong date. I myself was a month early, and my brother was also born early--in both of our cases, we would be different signs if born on the day that we were scheduled to be born. I actually am glad that I was born early, as I like being a Libra very much, but I was supposed to be a Scorpio.I don't think that it's unnatural or bad--just that it's not something that you can really bank on. ShadowLeoI think it would involve some really careful planning to be sure it goes right, like being induced or having an elective c-section (none of which I would submit my child or myself to just for the sake of things turning out the way I planned them). My twins' Saturn is conjunct my Sun/Venus/Jupiter conjunction and I literally feel suffocated by their needs and less-than-perfect behaviour sometimes. They're also Gemini chatter-boxes (one of them with Gemini rising, too) and I can't stand that. But, at the end of the day, I know that we are supposed to learn and adapt, and a less challenging relationship would also mean less opportunities to learn.
